Job Fair

Today was quite exciting! Halliburton had a booth at the Jobing.com career fair and we all trekked over there to try and fill some open positions. Halliburton was one of the major sponsors, so we had a huge booth set up right in the middle of things. Tons of people stopped by and I think we found some good candidates.

First Day on the Job

My first day was a blast at Halliburton. The Regional office is on 17th street smack-dab in downtown Denver all the way up on the 19th floor.

There’s quite a view of downtown, and you can even see the mountains.

I met with Ed Stanworth, who is the Senior HR Manager for the Northern Region; he’ll be my boss for the summer. We talked about some project ideas for this summer. The main one is designing an event for emerging leaders within the company. The goal is to get the emerging leaders excited about staying with Halliburton and moving up the food chain.

On Our Way

Well, we packed up the family and the car today and headed off to Brighton, Colorado. My internship this summer will be split between Brighton and Denver (where the regional office is). Halliburton kindly offered to put us up in company housing, which happens to be nicer than the campus apartment we have back at BYU! Here are some pictures of the drive and our new apartment.

This is one of the many tunnels we passed through.

Still snowy, even in late April!

Pulling into Brighton.

Our fully furnished (company provided) apartment.
